OBJECTIVE :
The application of Mathematics to all branches of science is well known and it has increased many-fold during the last few decades. Knowledge of Mathematics is, therefore, imperative for carrying out research and it forms a necessary input for industrial & technological development of the country. The Department offers a course in Mathematics at post-graduate level. The students of this course have the opportunities of being absorbed in teaching& research programmes in educational institutions and also in R&D wings of Industrial Establishments. The courses taught in M.Sc. Programme include Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Topology, Ordinary and Partial differential Equations, Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Mechanics of Solids, Integration Theory, Integral Equations, Differential Geometry, Functional Analysis, Abstract Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Computer Programming etc. Apart from the course curriculum, extension lectures by subject experts and seminars, etc. are the important activities of the department. The Department is having a well equipped Computing Lab.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:
B.A.(Hons.)/B.Sc.(Hons.) in Mathematics with atleast 50% marks
OR
B.A./B.Sc. with atleast 50% marks in aggregate with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
FEE STRUCTURE :
M.Sc. Mathematics = Rs. 17,000/- per annum
